Literally my favorite ramen EVER. My family used to go here almost every other weekend before the pandemic and eat delicious ramen. The hakata tonkotsu ramens were always bursting with flavor, and they are my family's favorite. Basically, everything there is delicious! Marufuku Ramen holds a special place in my heart, and I can't wait to go back again!

The best ramen I've had in a long time! Why did it take me so long to discover this place?!!! We went there 15-20 minutes before it's opening time and there were at least 30 people ahead of us. We had to wait for 45 minutes or so to get seated. But the service was super fast!Definitely going there again!!

I was missing Asian food after being in the States for awhile. I didn't go in expecting much but was absolutely blown away by the ramen. The broth was very well made and flavorful. I highly recommend Marufuku for authentic ramen far from home. As other reviews has pointed out, I waited 1.5 hours as the shop is very popular and has limited seating capacity. However, I waitlisted ahead of time via Yelp and the wait ended up being manageable.

Amazing experience! The reviews were right! There was a 2 hour waiting time but it was totally worth it! (pro tip: you can be on the list through yelp, check it out if you’re planning to go because you can not book tables online or by calling them). We tried the takoyakis and they were the BEST we have ever had (and we’ve tried a lot of them in many different places). Then we had the pork ramen and the chicken ramen. They were all so good and tasty... specially the pork ones. Ingredients were fresh and everything tasted delicious. Service was very very quick and efficient (sometimes a bit too much, but it’s just because they want you to eat quick to leave the table for the next guests - if you want to have lunch and take your time and relax after lunch, this is not your place). Honestly, this was a great place!!

Having been to Japan a few times and having lots of ramen there, I have to say that this place comes the closest to having an authentic tonkatsu taste I've had in the Bay Area. The broth is very rich and the noodles cooked perfectly. I had the chashu pork and braised pork and both were so flavorful. The addition of the ginger is very welcomed as well since it helps cut thru the richness of the dish.Dish presentation is on point and service was very quick. Make sure to get here early or you will suffer very long wait times! The prices were a tad bit high for my tastes but its SF and you just don't find ramen of this quality here that often. Well worth your time and money to visit this place!

the food is very good but the lady who attended us is totally rude of course I am aware of the waiting time but, other people after us passed before we wait around 2:45 3 hours and when I asked her she told me in a way Very rude that all of them had booked online as possible if I am seeing people put their name on the waiting list before me. the food is very good but they have to be prepared to withstand the rudeness of Miss Peny that I do not know if that is her name really really deprecated and sad should hire people who can work under pressure and not treat the costumer badly and I expect a lot time and should turn to answer the questions in a more polite way

I have wanted to experience this place for a while now but was always deterred by the line outside. In hindsight I was missing out. The line actually moved along pretty well on a week night. The ramen... worth the wait!

45 min wait for a Saturday lunch. Got in the waitlist at 12 and after 15 or so minutes the waitlist doubled! Love that you can see your progress in the yelp app! Walked around the mall and explored a bit. The food was awesome! Average portions. The bowl was cute too! Very crowded and loud.

Check in via Yelp to avoid long lines. Their menu is easy to read, not too many items on it (which is good). Packed with people who can be loud - bring earplugs. Not much room to turn around. Service is fast, to the point. Don't attempt to strike a long conversation with a server there - this is not a place. Ramen tastes almost like every other ramen unless you know how they cook it (this is when you start appreciating this place more). It is enough to go there once to follow the crowd.

A nice hole in the wall! We came on a Saturday with with 20+ people in line an hour before it open. The serving size is a little small for the price but the broth in the noodles are spectacular! You have to order their side dishes because they are delicious! The servers are attentive for how tiny and packed that place was. If I was in Japantown I would definitely go to this Ramen place again.

Small, informal and located inside s shopping center, at first Marufuku Ramen seems unassuming; however, passing them over would be a mistake, as this is some of the best ramen I've had in SF, or anywhere really. It's an explosion of flavors that are well-balanced and leave you craving for more, even when you're too full to keep going. Amazing broth, solid quality (and plentiful) toppings, perfectly cooked noodles. Just be sure to sign up in advance for their waiting list, as their wait time can exceed 2 hours during busy times. I highly recommend Marufuku Ramen!

This place was ok ramen. The broth is rich but fairly salty, the more you ate the saltier it got. Only offered the thin ramen noodles. It was a fairly long wait for decent but rather underwhelming ramen. If you don't normally eat ramen this place is pretty good, but if you're on a hunt for the best ramen outside Japan, perhaps reconsider. Service was fast and ambience was decent. Get on the online yelp waitlist at least 1 hour ahead of time if you want to get in.

This place is crowded for good reasons. One of the best ramen I had in SF. I took my coworkers here while staying near by and we all had the pork belly ramen. The broth was rich and flavorful. The pork belly just melts in your mouth with a good balance of fat and meat. Will come here again.

The flavor of the broth make it truly worth the 2 two hours waitlist. After we get the notification that our table was ready, we still waited about 15-20 minutes more after we get there. The serving size is decent, and service is quick.

Super super super amazing ramen! It is worth the wait! The chicken karaage is a great appetizer for holding you off until you get your noodles. The broth is extremely flavorful and all the toppings are delicious. 10/10 would recommend

Teach these waiter some manners, then might come again. Middle aged woman thinks she can ignore the people that pay her salary! LOL!!! I was being polite, asking her nicely 4-5 times, she just kept moving on. Disgusting gypsy of a woman she is, haha!

Awesome Ramen, I had the chicken deluxe. Great serving size. Good price. And the $4 fried chicken with rice was a pretty substantial side too. Very long wait but quick service, put your name on the wait list through Yelp around one to two hours in advance

The wait is worth it! But if you don't want to wait, show up early for lunch. You can definitely expect a long wait around dinner time (3 hours isn't unheard of) but the wait times are much more reasonable for lunch. You can put your name on the wait list and walk around the Japan Center. Everything we had here was delicious. The tonkatsu ramen is totally delicious! We ordered extra noodles, but probably didn't need to. The marufuku bites were incredible, even the mayonnaise tasted fresh or homemade. The service was very good too, everyone was friendly and attentive.

The ramen spice level is very nice. The mild was apparently pretty mild, but there is a jar of pepper powder to fine tune to your preference. Long line, but the ability to put yourself on the waitlist online makes it not so much of a concern... just put yourself on and get there before the recommended time because the waitlist estimate is pretty pessimistic and might cause you to miss your place in line if you come at the recommended time.

Hands down one of the best ramens I've had. We ordered the ultra spicy hotness level and it definitely lived up to it's name. My wife is vegetarian and she ordered veggie ramen and she was amazed at how tasty it was.

The ramen is great, and has a generous portion of noodles. It is a good idea to add chashu to your order, because there ain't much meat.

Delicious. There was an extremely long wait, which confounded me because although the ramen is delicious, there are plenty of other ramen places that offer ramen of this caliber as well with no wait. I'd go back again if it weren't for the long wait.

This ramen place is very crowded and often see many customers signing in and waiting on the kiosk for long wait times even on the yelp wait list. They are not very big, but their ramen one of the best. Everything in a ramen with the flavor of the soup, an entire egg cooked perfectly, and pork melts in your mouth. We ordered the Hakata DX tonkatsu and miso ramen. They were fast and located in the upper level west side or the mall. I would highly recommend trying them. We were second in line half an hour before opening with a huge long line behind us. I have paid for ramen at the same prices and the noodles and flavor did not come close.

Went here in opening hour, long waiting list so go early if you want. While waiting you can walk around japan center, and kill some time. Better if you go here with a group, so you don’t have to share a table, with another party. Wait and money was worth the quality! Professional staff, boujee water, and authentic atmosphere! I would love to go here again!! There’s different spice levels, you could say no spice, mild, medium, spicy, and ultra spicy. I got medium but next time I’d like to try spicy, and it might just be right for me :) (For reference, I could eat a whole bag of XXTRA hot cheetos in a day (COULD but I obviously won’t)).

After a long wait, finally got to try a bowl of ramen! Ramen texture is just right while the broth is flavored with perfection! There is usually a long wait here. Try to get on the waiting list on Yelp app asap, but still expect to wait 1-2 hours on weekends. Wait estimates may be longer than expected. If you're a huge ramen fan, you will like this place very much! If you hate waiting, well... 😱

Lives up to the hype! After several attempts, finally got a table here and was not disappointed. Food was delicious, staff were very professional (and even charged my phone for me!), and the venue was modern and clean. We tried their pork broth and chicken broth ramen, the pork belly, and the octopus balls. They were all amaaaazing!

The ramen here was exquisite loved it. The restaurant has a great vibe and the service was spot on. Very polite. Definitely get there before opening like 15 minutes or so before opening because there will be a line waiting to go in. They do have a great waiting list where you write your name down and phone number and they text you when your table is ready!

Careful... the portions here are huge!! I mean it was also pretty good ramen too, but /none/ of my friends could finish their portions. We were super lucky to come about 20 minutes before it opened for its evening service, so we managed to get a table. It's within the Japantown plaza so there's plenty of other shops to stop by if you can't handle the wait (the wait outside stayed steady the whole time we were there!). But we really enjoyed the service and the food, so I would totally come here again if I catch it at a good time. :-)

Came here for the second time and it was just as good as the first! The wait list did open a little later this time around, and I was on the Yelp app for about 10-15 minutes waiting for the wait list to open, but it was obviously worth it! This place runs like a factory, and they are as efficient as it gets. Be sure to check it out, definitely the best ramen I've ever had!

Same as Kinton Ramen. It is below average ramen at best. The ramen noodles are too thin, but the most damning thing is the salty broth. There's nothing else to it but salt. The first few bites are masked our my the extreme heat (and extreme wait times) - but make no mistake, it's just ridiculous amounts of salt. It's really too disappointing, given the outstanding Japanese food nearby (and really, all throughout the SF area). The karage was on point, but that's the only nice thing I can say about it.The ramen was less than mediocre.

The gyoza and karaage were both great appetizers, though I give a slight edge to the fried chicken if you're deciding between them. I got the Hakata Tonkotsu ramen with medium spice and it was truly excellent. Noodles and broth were top notch, and I very much enjoyed the sprouts and pickled ginger. If there's a line they have an online waiting list so you can wander the mall while you wait, then you get a text and call when they're ready for you. Highly recommended.

We called ahead of time to make a reservation coming from Reno. They said they do not take them, to show up and they would put us on the wait list. After arriving (3.5hr drive) at 7, they said the wait list was full and that we should drive to Oakland and they were rude about it sadly. Very unfortunate.

This place overtook Yamadaya as my favorite after just one taste of their tonkotsu ramen. Their ika geso (fried squid) and takoyaki (octopus hushpuppies) are also top-notch and the mere memory of their existence invokes cravings on a regular basis. Marufuku has very polite and fast service that always feels genuinely inviting. Every time I've gone, there has been a very long line forming at the entrance, usually starting at least half an hour before they open for lunch, so be sure to plan ahead. Even if you do manage to get in line before they open, you may need to be put onto the electronic waiting list. Yes, this place is THAT good.
